Assignment #4--News Teaser
Using the class Voki create a news introduction--Voki.com/classroom allows you to create talking animations. You can select the person doing the talking, you can write the information for it to read OR you can call in with your cell phone and record your own voice (talk to Mrs. Ferris before you do this).
You must include:
Your name (introduce yourself)
The name of your newscast
The date
An overview of tonight's top stories (you must have at least 3)
A brief top story
You only have 60 seconds in your Voki
You news anchor should look professional (remember this is a news cast).
All your information must be school appropriate
The computers DO NOT have speakers
If you want to listen to your Voki you will need headphones OR come see Mrs. Ferris and you can hear it from her computer, or there are a couple pairs of headphones you can check out

Assignment #3--Run Down Practice
You are going to take the available news stories that I have given you and create a rundown of the order they will run
Make sure to pay attention to the total time (22 minutes)
You will need to put in where you want the commercials to play (as in between what stories)
Copy the pages into a Google Doc or Google Presentation
This must be done on the FIRST DAY--News changes so you must get your 5 front pages TODAY. Otherwise you have to start over tomorrow. Copy first, THEN go back and answer the questions
Answer the following questions for each front page
What paper did you choose? (should be on top of the slide with the image)What City/State were they each from (should be on top of the slide with the image)
What headlines were used? (make sure to list the main headline from EACH PAPER you selected)
What pictures or graphics were shown?
What stood out to YOU the most
Once you are done with your 5, create a new slide/page and answer these questions
How were the stories different from the different papers/states?
What stories were the same through the different papers?
What emotions were shown? What tone was present in the front pages (positive, negative, scary)
Do you think any of this stories will be remembered in 10 years? Which ones? Why?
